Schools must publish their Inclusion Strategies by 31 December 2026 for the academic year 2026 to 2027. This requirement is a condition of the Inclusive Mainstream Fund and
applies to all maintained schools, academies, free schools, and city technology colleges that receive the fund. The strategy must cover the barriers to learning and participation
faced by the school’s cohort, the activities being invested in to alleviate those barriers, the expected outcomes, and the costs associated with the activities. The strategy should
be updated annually thereafter.

New local authority-maintained school data now live in the Financial Benchmarking and Insights Tool The latest financial data for local authority-maintained schools (2025 to 2026) is now available in the Financial Benchmarking and Insights Tool (FBIT). FBIT is the sector’s go-to resource for benchmarking spending and identifying opportunities for improvement, used by 98% of schools in the last year.
