Narrowing the gap between disadvantaged pupils and their peers continues to present one of the greatest challenges faced by schools and wider society. Delivered by the Director of an EEF (Education Endowment Foundation) Research School, the session aligns with DfE guidance and current Pupil Premium strategies.

Cheshire East Assessment & Data Training for Governors
Places are available on our ‘Understanding Assessment and Data’ training for governors on Tuesday 02 June 2026, 6:00pm – 8:00pm via Zoom.
‘An effective governing body holds its school leadership to account for improving pupil and staff performance by asking the right questions, informed by data.’ DfE Governance Guide
This session will provide governors/trustees with an understanding of how pupils are assessed in each key stage, from Early Years to Key Stage 2, whilst aiming to clarify what boards should know about assessment and how they can develop that knowledge whilst remaining strategic, regardless of educational experience.

This course is free to schools and academies that have purchased CPD Training and Development for Governors via ChESS Hub.

Cheshire East Governance Training – Finance for Maintained Schools
GOVERNANCE TRAINING: Places are available on our ‘Finance for Maintained Schools’ training for governors on Tuesday 19 May 2026, 6:30 –8:30pm, via MS Teams. Ahead of approving your school’s budget for 2026/27, this session will assist in developing your understanding of the major aspects of financial management in schools. This will include how funding is delivered and distributed to schools and will explore governors’ roles and responsibilities in relation to school finance.

Cheshire East Smartphone Webinar FREE
Please register for a practical webinar with Generation Focus where you’ll hear from teachers who’ve banned phones completely at their schools, adopting “brick-phone only” policies. They’ll talk about why they did it, the challenges they overcame and the extraordinary impact they’ve seen.
The webinar will take place on Zoom at 4:30pm on Monday 18 May.
