During this workshop we will increase awareness of the most common mental health problems. Staff will be helped to improve their own mental health in numerous ways, as well as become more informed & equipped to address issues experienced by colleagues & pupils. There will be a strong practical focus upon strategies for improving wellbeing, how to hold conversations about your own & others’ mental health, & guidance around when & how to seek help. We will focus upon the fact that everyone can benefit from improving & protecting their mental wellbeing as a preventative measure, even those considered to have ‘good’ mental health at present.
We would like to invite a group of Heads from eCAPH schools to come and join this specific meeting as there are three themes which we feel would be of particular interest to all schools and we are keen to get feedback on these themes from a wider group of leaders.
The themes include:
1. Hearing from Dawn Godfrey – Exec Director of Children’s Service and Iain Peel (Interim Director for Education) on the future relationship with schools.
2. To hear about a draft ‘SEND Curriculum & Assessment Programme for Mainstream Settings’ which has been developed with Lisa Hogkison at Springfield School. This is an exciting piece of work which we have started to shape up and we want to listen to Heads about its content, further development and potential roll out to all schools in 2026.
3. To consider a ‘Use of AI ‘training package which has been commissioned specially for eCAPH and as above, give feedback on this option ahead of roll out.
If you would like to attend this meeting and join in discussions, please email Gill gill@ecaph.org or Mark mark@ecaph.org or contact your eCAPH cluster lead – we look forward to seeing some of you on the 29th January.
Following the extensive uptake from our schools and settings of the Inclusion Strategy training with Gary Aubin this term, we would like to invite governors and trustees to join Gary in talking through The Graduated Approach, with a particular focus on Ordinarily Available and Inclusion Provision.
